Our Vision & Mission
Our desire is to bring living water, the water of life wherever the Lord sends us and to continue to dig wells with clean water to those who are now traveling many kilometers for a bucket of water. Our vision is to evangelize, to set up conferences and to do as much as possible to change the lives of those in Africa towards the better.

Celebrations and enjoying clean water during the drilling of their first ever borehole dug in their Local council village.
By sponsoring children to go to school. These children can be taught spiritually and academically so that they can then change the lives of those in their country and teach others of God’s way. Discipleship, spiritual growth, evangelism, leadership.
By making medical centers and medicine available for the sick. There is a lack of medical staff and there are no nearby hospitals. Our goal is to make these investments so that they have the means to sustain themselves.
By building houses and making basic needs available. They need food, clothing, and mattresses, as they are currently sleeping on the ground. We are also looking to make a center to fit more missionaries. They need a place to stay so that they can fully engage in helping the people grow spiritually as well as helping with what is necessary. We would like to enhance their lives by developing irrigation and solar systems, by planting fruit trees, and making gardens.
Who We Are
Aqua Mission
Aqua Mission is a nonprofit organization based in Canada. It was started by Marian and Rodica Volintiru. This organization has been a blessing to many African countries and especially to the less privileged Karamajongo people in North Eastern Uganda.
Beneficiaries – Karamoja Region
Karamoja is a region that is comprised of seven districts which include, Kotido, Moroto, Abim, Napak, Kabong, Nakapiripirit, and Amudat with a population of more than 2.5 million people.
The region has been facing a problem of acute lack of water and food that has made thousands of people and animals lose their lives and very poor education. As the Bible says in Deuteronomy 15:10-11, “You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore, I command you, You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.”
Our Background
Aqua Mission is a nonprofit organization based in Canada that was started by Rodica Volintiru and Marian Volintiru

I was born in 1964 in Zorleni-Vaslui Romania to a Christian family. I graduated from Marine High School in Galati. In 1985 I started traveling and visited over 40 countries. Having a strong desire to change my spiritual and financial life along with having a desire to help the poor, I ran off the ship I was traveling in 1993 and remained in Canada. That same year, while in Canada, I met a Romanian girl who was visiting her sister.
One year later we got married. Although we both came from Christian families, neither of us was living the way God wanted us to. At that time I felt God telling me to seek Him and know Him. I felt the need to stop living in a form of religion and start a personal relationship of love with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. During this time, God has blessed us with four children, two boys, and two girls.
In our search for God, something miraculous happened. My wife was seeking and thirsting after God, and God had spoken to her. God filled her with abundant love, passion, and a flame burning for God and those lost in the world. Following this supernatural encounter, her life was transformed completely. God had then called her to take many days of fasting and pray for different situations and countries such as Romania and Africa. In 2007, God called my wife to a 40-day and 40-night fast with water alone, and to ask God to bring a revival in Romania and all the Romanian communities across the world. I also fasted and prayed with my wife, but ate each night.
Shortly afterward, God has spoken to us clearly and in detail to go on a mission to Romania. In the first year of the mission, we visited many cities and God has opened up many doors. With passion and love for this broken world, we visited thirty churches, many prisons, orphanages, and the streets telling people about the Word of God. Every year God would speak to my wife and call her to set aside 40 days of fasting to prepare us for a new mission in Romania.
God has opened more doors for missions in Europe and Africa: Uganda, and the Central African Republic. Kenya, Malawi. With God’s help and the financial support of many Romanian communities, we were able to reach many people in the African countries: providing food, and clothes, sponsoring children to go to school, orphanages, etc.
In 2015 we were invited to a large convention in Kampala, Uganda where God opened a door and helped us understand the needs of the Karamojong tribe. This tribe was in desperate need of water and food. We then prayed to see if its God’s will for us to help them. Almost immediately God had touched the hearts of the Romanian people and a fund was raised to dig a well. In 2016 God continued to work in His miraculous ways and more money was raised to dig the other three wells in a period of eight years now we have 68 water wells in Karamoja and people are now drinking clean water. Praise the Lord.

Our Activities

Build Wells.
We have been able to build 111 water wells in the region as of September 2026. Each water well is used by approximately one thousand people per 24 hours (day and night). These few water wells are overcrowded and overused by both people and their animals meaning there is still much need to build more wells in the region.

Evangelize
We have preached the gospel to hundreds of people and we have been able to baptize 5 people who accepted Jesus Christ for their very first time in Iriri village – Napak district. They were very excited to see the water well and they believed God can turn their lives around. Hundreds of people have also given their lives to Christ gradually whenever we go for missions.
This is how big your donations have changed lives for Christ.
Testimonials

BISHOP. ROBERT OLUPOT
BISHOP PENTECOSTAL ASSEMBLIES OF GOD (PAG) CHURCHES-KARAMOJA.
I am so grateful to God for Aqua Mission and for having participated in its activities that have ranged from food distribution, drilling and commissioning of boreholes, child sponsorship programs among others. As an overseer of all the Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) Churches in Karamoja, I can say “Ebenezer”. We have so far acquired Forty-four boreholes alone through Aqua Mission Uganda, giving out food, clothes, and soap among other items to the churches in Moroto. There are also 10 children sponsored by Aqua Mission at Acherer Primary School which is also found in Moroto District. We thank you so much for this Godly initiative to change the face of Karamoja and Africa At large. Thank you, Marian, Ivan, and everyone who is behind this initiative. Bless You.

EMOJONG PATRICK
HEAD OF NAKAPIRIPIRIT PRISION
I take this opportunity to thank Aqua Mission for the dedicated work to save Karamoja and Uganda at large. On behalf of Nakapiripirit Prison, I would like to appreciate all your efforts. My first time communicating with Ivan Twinobusingye surely comforted me that Karamoja will never be the same again and later after meeting Marian Volintiru on commissioning the borehole sponsored by Aqua Mission at our prison premises and hearing the passion he has to help the needy and less privileged melted my heart. These two have inspired me to always help anyone around me. Thank you for giving us food, soap, and other items needed in my community, and above all for giving us a borehole that has served the prison and the whole community. Thank you for preaching the gospel to us, the prisoners, and to all the people in Karamoja. AMEN

ACAN GRACE
DEPUTY HEADTEACHER
ACERER PRIMARY SCHOOL
First of all, I would like to thank God for connecting us with Aqua Mission which has selflessly helped Karamoja. As a Deputy head teacher of Acherer Primary school, we have always faced a big challenge of shortage of water, lack of food in the community and at school, and mostly the continuous dropout of children from school because of lack of school fees and other scholastic materials even though the fees have been reduced. Therefore, I take this opportunity to thank Aqua Mission for the initiative they have started to pay school fees for some of the needy children in the school to shape the future generation and for giving us a borehole that both the children at school and the community have used. I thank Ivan Twinobusingye who has visited us and all the Romanian community around the world that he is working with to save the future of these children in Karamoja and Uganda at large. Thank you and may God bless you.

“……We are very happy to receive this borehole which has now reduced the time spent fetching water from long distances. It has also saved us fetching dirty water which is contaminated by human and animal feces, and the risks associated with this……. I am now using this time to perform other productive and economic activities to earn money to educate my children. Now, I can wash clothes and prepare meals for my husband and children very fast. ……….No more quarrels from my husband because of delayed meals……The borehole has reduced queues on the well which we have been using as women have quick access to the water. However, we still need more boreholes as this borehole is overwhelmed by the number of people and some women still walk long distances to access water from the borehole. Thanks to Aqua Mission for helping us” Says Anonymous, Member of Camera Women Village Group, one of the beneficiaries of the project.
